Care strategy

Navigation is part of the health-plan design

Employees cannot use a better health plan if they cannot understand it or find high-value care when they need it.

By Corry Hull, REBC, CSFS

A plan’s design is experienced in real time: when an employee needs a specialist, a prescription, a second opinion or support for a complex diagnosis.

Navigation connects the strategy leaders purchase with the decisions employees actually make. It should be simple to find, credible at the moment of need and aligned with the plan’s care pathways.

That makes communication and employee experience measurable components of performance—not secondary implementation details.
